The educational philosophy of First Academy is based on the God-centered view that all truth is based on God’s Word, the Bible. The Bible is the inspired and only infallible, authoritative Word of God which is the foundation for all truth. The purpose of Christian education is a vehicle for bringing the student into a relationship with God and developing the student spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially. First Academy seeks to partner with parents and serve as an extension of the home to build these foundational years for students.
“Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did.” I John 2:6
First Academy will only appoint board members, administrative staff, staff, and teachers whose actions and attitudes model Christ. Discipline and behavior standards will be based on biblical principles that lead to Christ-like example in a student’s life.
“And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6:6-9
First Academy will develop and implement only policies and procedures that honor Christian families.
“Now I beseech you, brethren, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfected together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” 1 Cor. 1:10
First Academy exists as a ministry of First Baptist Rogers. We will operate under the authority of this church, strengthen the church, and honor the church through our policies, procedures, and practices.
“And Jesus grew in wisdom, and stature, and in favor with God and man.” Luke 2:52
First Academy will develop an entire educational program based on God’s Word. We will be a safe and comfortable learning environment where students are engaged and challenged. We will employ teachers who model godly wisdom and Christian virtues in their lives.
“Whoever wants to become great among us must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first be your slave; Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20: 26-28
First Academy seeks to provide opportunities to cultivate a heart of service in our students. It is important and part of daily routine to teach students the value and the joy of serving others before self.
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” Colossians 3:23
First Academy will strive to develop and operate a budget that reflects the biblical principles of stewardship, will maintain all facilities in a way that honors the Lord and meets the needs of students, and will partner with families to provide quality educational pursuits that equip students for an ever-changing world.
